Marie Saint Pierre Spring 2018 creations - a world of Japanese influences.

Folds cut from a metallic, paper-like fabric shine as one of the key elements of the story. It is an oversized work of origami art, a geometric cascade suggesting a new approach to evening wear.

Folding as an art-form. The lines are pure, the fabrics weightless. Origami is seen in all its meticulosity in the garment’s creases and in the use of organza; cascading like a waterfall. Crafted in a paper-like fabric with metallic accents, these sculptural garments are of a poetic geometry.

The result is as artistic as it is mathematic. Like a sheet of paper that, by the magic of a few folds becomes a flower. Partly homage to deconstruction, the spring 2018 collection flirts with the universe of Japanese art.
