Geometric Feminity

Posted in : Explore on by : Philippe Benoit Comments:

A prowess that is simultaneously Cartesian and poetic, where rectangular ruffles run alongside obtuse angles yokes and outline prism silhouettes.

3D isn’t solely found in volumes, but also in the multi-material approach. Printed and plain fabrics, sheer and opaque, share the surface of the same garment. Textures oppose one another, colours taunt each other. Their meeting gives relief and create new patterns.

The ensemble is a variable geometry: a play on precision built on details here, an oversized contour with endless lines there. Mini or maxi? Marie Saint Pierre explores synthesis like she does exaggeration. All seems to hinge on calculations that follow no rule but their own.

The proposition is powerful - a strong and bold definition of femininity.
