Stripes Play

Volume 2: Intemporality
Chapter 2: Stripes play

This is a pattern made from scratch. An assembly of stripes that avoids repetition, like a song that needs no bridge—each verse is different. In color, length, and meaning. Shine becomes shadow, swell becomes dead calm.

Relief is the watchword. Ruffles play alongside lamé. Warmth cozies up to the cold. Weights and thicknesses are combined. Contrasts in texture add up to create a unique picture, the antithesis of the it print. It is an amalgam of bold oppositions, lines composed of unlikely and yet magnetic pairings.

The eye does not see everything. One must touch the garment to understand it, one must slip it on to fully grasp the sheer complexity of the assembly.
